Research Interests

Jesús Fernández-Villaverde's primary research interests are in the formulation of dynamic equilibrium models, their efficient computation, and their estimation, in particular using machine learning. 

He has also worked on issues related to monetary economics, economic history and political economy.

Biography

Jesús Fernández-Villaverde is the Howard Marks Presidential Professor of Economics, University of Pennsylvania. 

He also holds the following positions:

  • Co-Director, The Business, Economic, and Financial History Project at the Wharton Initiative on Financial Policy and Regulation
  • Faculty, Graduate Group in Applied Mathematics and Computational Science (Penn)
