Workers’ responses to the threat of automation

Christopher Rauh's article into the threat automation poses to many workers has been published in VoxEU.
VoxEU is the Centre for Economic Policy Research online policy magazine.
Based on research by Professor Rauh and Marta Golin (University of Zurich), it finds that fear of automation leads workers to demand higher taxation and more redistribution. Workers plan to join a union to protect their employment rather than adopt new skills or switch occupation.
