Kamiar Mohaddes paper runner-up in FT awards
Dr. Kamiar Mohaddes's paper, "Rising Temperatures, Falling Ratings: The Effect of Climate Change on Sovereign Creditworthiness", was named runner-up in the Financial Times Responsible Business Education Awards.
The paper, joint with Patrycja Klusak, Matthew Agarwala, Matt Burke, and Moritz Kraemer, uses AI to put science, economics, and materiality at the heart of climate finance.
The awards showcase strong research seeking to focus on people and planet alongside profit.
Kamiar was cited in the category for “Academic research with impact”, which is awarded to papers that “address societal challenges, with evidence of impact on policy or practice.”
Dr Kamiar Mohaddes is Associate Professor in Economics & Policy and a Fellow of King’s College, at the University of Cambridge. Kamiar and his colleagues were cited for a paper which examines the link between sound climate change policies and the sovereign credit ratings of nations.
The paper was co-authored by Patrycja Klusak, Matthew Agarwala, Matt Burke and Kamiar Mohaddes of the University of Cambridge, and Moritz Kraemer of SOAS University of London.
