Bio:

Emil works on microeconomic theory and industrial organisation. His main interests are in mechanism and market design, information economics, and contests. He is motivated by questions with policy implications and significant social welfare consequences, such as for example in the fields of public policy (differential treatment, optimal rationing, inequality), innovation (R&D incentives and the organisation of the patent system), antitrust and regulation. He is currently working on new information and organisation-based models of differential treatment, and on the design of education markets. Emil is a Senior Lecturer in Economics at the University of Technology Sydney. He received his PhD in 2015 from Northwestern University.
