Rhys Bidder is a Senior Teaching Associate at the Faculty of Economics at the University of Cambridge and a Fellow at the National Institute of Economic and Social Research. He has previously worked at the Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco (including a system interchange program to the Board of Governors) and the Bank of England. After completing his PhD at NYU under Thomas Sargent, Rhys' research has touched on asset pricing and business cycles in the presence of ambiguity and also on bank behavior and the effects of financial regulation. His current work explores detailed firm and loan level data to gain insights into the propagation of shocks through the financial system and broader economy.
